Mike graduated in the UK in 1985, qualifying as a GP in 1989, and has worked at St Martins Medical Practice since 2000. He lives locally and loves being part of the St Martins community. Mike enjoys all aspects of General Practice, especially the variety involved, with no two days being the same. It has been a privilege to help and get to know his patients and their whanau over the years. He feels it is important to spend time listening to patients’ ideas and concerns, and shared decision-making is vital in good health care.
Mike enjoys being involved in medical education and has found teaching GP registrars particularly rewarding.
When not at work he enjoys singing baritone with The Plainsmen Barbershop singing group and after giving up playing football he tries to keep his ageing body fit by running (he couldn’t quite claim he enjoys that).
